Think of a Check-In as a fun, quick update - a mini-postcard for your group. This is how you manually share a specific moment in time with your group.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Tap the Check-In Icon: From the main map screen, tap the ‘Check-In’ icon located in the top-right corner.
- Choose Your Location: Where are you? On the next screen, you can choose a location from the nearby suggestions or use the search bar to find a specific place you want to check in to.
- Add Details (Optional): On the final screen, you can share more with your group:
- Add a comment: Tell your group what you're up to.
- Add a photo: Tap to take a new photo or add one from your gallery. You can also share videos via in-app messaging.
- Optional: Save as a Place: If this is a location you visit often, you can toggle ‘Add to place list’ to save it as a permanent Place for future alerts.
- Post: Tap the button at the bottom to post your Check-In to the group's activity feed.
Good to Know:
- Check-In vs. Place Alert: Place alerts are automatic notifications based on entering or leaving a pre-set zone. Check-ins are manual posts that you create.
- Quick Post: You can still check in without adding a comment or photo if you just want to quickly share your location.
- The Feed: Your check-ins will appear in the group's activity feed, alongside any panic alerts and new places created.
