Sometimes you want a little privacy! Private Mode allows you to stop sharing your location with others in your group, but here’s the neat part: you can still see their locations.
How to Activate/Deactivate Private Mode
- Go to Settings: Tap the ‘Settings’ icon in the bottom navigation bar.
- Activate: Click ‘Enter Private Mode’.
- Confirmation: A banner will appear at the top of the main map page saying ‘You are in Private Mode’.
- Deactivate: To start sharing your location again, repeat the steps and select the option to Exit Private Mode.
The SOS Override
Safety is paramount. If you are in Private Mode and trigger the SOS Emergency Alert, Private Mode will be deactivated immediately and your current, live location will be sent to the group. The emergency feature is the highest priority. Once the alert is cleared, you will need to manually re-enter Private Mode if you wish to hide your location again.
